The history of Chantecler brand started in 1930, when Petro Capuano, one of the founders, aristocrat from Naples, moved to Capri and turned to gold work. Petro got the nickname Chantecler from his friends (the word “Chantecler” in French means “cockerel”) and gave this name to his future jewelry company.
The Chantecler jewelry house was established in 1947 by Petro`s partner – Salvatore Aprea. The most beautiful and famous girls of that generation wore the jewels of Chantecler: Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman, Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis, Maria Callas and many others.
The most famous piece of jewelry of Chantecler is a small bell made of enameled gold, which can be worn as a pendant for a bracelet, locket or earring. The first bell was invented by Chantecler, who presented Roosevelt, the American president, with it.
Chantecler jewelry is simple and charming. Jewelers were inspired by the beauty of the place where they created them.
